…and baby makes three

10 May

Well, technically four since Zelda the pug was there first.

Some families request a studio newborn shoot and some request in-home.  It can be hard for new parents to leave the house, especially if the birth was difficult or there is healing to be done.  Some people like the homey-ness and real feel you get from using the personal space as a background.  Some people have the most Pinterest-Perfect nursery!

Welcome to the most blog-worthy nursery I’ve ever photographed_DSC9085_DSC9131_DSC9132_DSC9133_DSC9134_DSC9148_DSC9209_DSC9210

She may not sleep in there, but we joked that in the blink of an eye baby T would be soon spending her days playing in that beautiful room. But for now she spends her days in her loving parents’ arms.

Congratulations to this lovely family ❤

Maternity photos >> New Family of Four

19 Apr

Jayan contacted me early in her pregnancy wondering if I would be interested in doing a creative maternity shoot.  Creative and artistic are two categories that are important to me in photography so, naturally we decided we would absolutely work together.

The following is a small selection from the “milk bath” tub shoot.  There is a beautiful fluidity of the milk, curving porcelain tub, flowing mermaid hair, and draping fabrics.  All complementary to the softness of motherhood, (the serenity before the entrance of a new baby, hehe), this celebration of the beautiful body holding their second child.

Right after our shoot, Jayan’s mom cast her belly to make a belly bowl (it is shown in the next set of photos).  Now we get to see the new addition to the family!

Here is the beautiful belly bowl!  Babe had no interest in curling up into it like I wanted, but that’s okay, you fling those tiny baby legs wherever you’re comfiest, little one!

Congratulations to these two wonderful parents of now two beautiful children – welcome little brother!

This session was so relaxing and gentle.  It was nice to meet this family and have a furry friend in the studio too!

Steph and Rich’s twins came home from the hospital recently and these little tinies got to come get snuggly in my studio.

Scarlet and Rory

I got to spend the other morning in the studio with Lyndsay, Aaron, and their rainbow babies – twins!  It was a nice time.  Being a mom of twins myself, it was a great throwback.. cool to discuss how they noticed different personalities between the girls already. Having twins is a very, very special thing.  Congratulations to Lyndsay and Aaron on their amazing double addition to their family.
