Baby Mikyla

29 Dec

Season’s greetings Everyone!  I hope the holidays have been treating you all well.  I know this has been a special Christmas for several families who have welcomed a December-baby including this sweet couple.

Did Santa get Makayla and Robbie naps for Christmas? Or maybe a solid 4-5 hours of sleep? That’s what I got for the twins’ first Christmas and, I mean, apart from being blessed with healthy twinnies, sleep was like a gift from the Gods.

Wishing this couple all the best!!

A super mom and her girls

12 Oct

This is Jennifer, one of my best friends from childhood.  We both had our first children in 2011 and hope that they will be good pals just like we were! Her oldest is very shy, as apparent in the pictures, and her youngest reminds me of my kids – pretty wacky and spirited.

Jenn is an incredible mom. So very intuitive to her children’s needs, working hard to give them everything she can.  I love this family, and love watching these girls grow up.

Ashley and Jacob

22 Sep

What an awesome and memorable day for Jacob and Ashley.

My day with them started off at El Tres for a “first look”, then off to Waverly to meet with the family and wedding party for pictures, and finally off to Mt Baldy for the rest of the night.

It was such a hilarious day with this awesome couple, plus an amazing crowd including tons of old pals!

Taylar and Keith

So I think I’ve had rain, storms, impending storms at pretty much every wedding this season (even rainbows at two in a row)… but the storm this past Saturday was something else, hah!   We got rained on, hailed on, and lightning practically hit our haystacks.  Anyway, that part just made it extra unforgettable.  Congrats Taylar and Keith!_DSC0138_DSC0141_DSC0145_DSC0149_DSC0150_DSC0170_DSC0182_DSC0192_DSC0199_DSC0204_DSC0243_DSC0262_DSC0264_DSC0313_DSC0440_DSC0542_DSC0570_DSC0575_DSC0594_DSC0604_DSC0605_DSC0609_DSC0618_DSC0635_DSC0649_DSC0688_DSC0751_DSC0760

Julie & Spencer – sneak peek

My second destination wedding – and I can call this a destination wedding, right?  Lutsen may only be two hours away, and the landscape is pretty much the same as home, but the resort is just so beautiful it feels like you’re away somewhere special.

There is lots to say about this awesome couple and their incredible wedding.

Like, 1. they are really fun and nice, and put on an awesome party.
2. They each have a large group of friends that adore them.
3. They are really loving parents! Julie kept saying: gee this would’ve been a lot easier if we did the wedding BEFORE kids! But half the bridesmaids had infants there anyway so it was a total baby party with a fun vibe.

The wedding itself was so cool – Lutsen Resort has an amazing layout for a beautiful outdoor wedding.  Grassy area for the ceremony, covered deck for cocktail hour, view of the expansive lake.

Highlights of the day include:

So many tiny babies
The “first look”
Curly blonde toddler stealing the show (multiple times)
The most insane storm and downpour
Double rainbow
Ending the night with a bonfire, first time s’mores

Curniss & Chris

21 May

The other evening with this couple was great.  We trekked along Centennial’s paths – to further reaching areas I don’t usually go to on a typical shoot – but not surprising with these adventurers.

Curniss and Chris are travelers that love and embrace the outdoors  and have stories to tell.  They have a blog which documents their travels which is chock full of amazing pictures and enthralling, detailed accounts of their experiences. It’s worth a gander!

Excited to celebrate their marriage with them, friends, and family later this year.
