A Day in the Life… (March Break edition)

17 Mar

It’s spring break for all the kids here this week, so I’ve been finding lots of fun activities and quality-time-stuff to do with the girls.

Before yesterday’s snowstorm, we met my friend Nancy at the Conservatory and spent some time in a tropical paradise before leaving out into blizzard and snow squalls we were TOTALLY under dressed for.

I had my camera with me as Nancy and I were on a bit of an assignment, but I also enjoyed chasing the girls around to capture their playful enjoyment of the Conservatory.

The Haywoods

9 Sep

A little sneak peek for this lovely little family!  Got to use the location I have been dying to shoot at and I hope to use it again before the season is over!

Loved shooting this couple – so full of love.  This little one was SO GOOD.  It may have been one of her first experiences with grass?  Anyway she certainly was intrigued and may or may not have tried to chow down.

Rae-Ann

8 Aug

I was pumped to get to shoot with Rae-Ann this week as I had just realized how perfect this spot would be for portraits.  This is a lookout in town, but I happened to be walking up the hill from the bottom a couple Sundays ago after the Busker’s Festival – a viewpoint that can be forgotten when you’re enjoying the view from the top.

Rebecca & Kamila

23 Jul

This was a more creative session — and I love doing sessions like these because I get to throw more of my artistic side into them.

We were so bug bitten.  I think over half the duration we were shooting we were screeching and flailing.  I had to edit bugs and/or bug bites out of EVERY single frame.  No foolin’!

Enjoy this set – these gals are just lovely and Kamila actually made those beautiful floral crowns herself with fleurs from her garden!

Early summer blooms

28 Jun

lilacs

This lilac bush/tree was the first thing to bloom in my yard.  It smelled so nice, but the flowers have all since fallen off and now it’s just a boring leafy green thing.
